WENTZVILLE HEAT VOLLEYBALL

Wentzville Heat Volleyball Club strives to provide both the players and the parents its expectations to be successful in both playing the game and being a member of the Wentzville Heat VBC. This section is primarily directed to the parents to provide an overview of what you need to understand to participate fully in the club experience.

1) Financial Estimates
Participating in any club sport requires a Financial Commitment. The Financial Estimate for Wentzville Heat VBC is available upon request for those interested in the cost of participation for the club. Each team independently will decide on additional tournaments outside the standard Wentzville Heat budget format.

2) Tryout Details & Forms: Girls U11-14, Girls U15-18
Tryouts are a mandatory part of the process. Different sessions are held for the different age groups, Girls U11-U14 and Girls U15-U18. No Tryouts will take place for the 9U and 10U Programs. Times are set up for each age bracket (i.e. 11, 12, 13 ...). It is critical that your child participate in the age-specific Tryout time and location in order to be evaluated by the appropriate coaches. If you are unable to attend that specific session, contact the Club Director or the appropriate Coach(es) for that age to determine if another time will be available or acceptable.

If a player attends the wrong age group for Tryouts, the player may not be offered a position on that team.

3) Registration Night - REQUIRED!!
Typically, the Monday following Tryouts is our Registration Night and first Parent Meeting. You are required to Register your player with our Club, pay Club fees, complete the USAV Youth & Junior Volleyball Player Medical Release Form, sign Parent Code of Conduct, and handle any additional team specific items. Do NOT just drop off your Player, a Parent or Legal Guardian must be present! Siblings or neighbors do not qualify. You must contact the Coach or Club Director if you are not able to attend to make alternative arrangements. In October, We will have sample Jerseys, Shorts, and Practice Tees for players to try on prior to the Club placing uniform orders. HIGH SCHOOL AGE Players will try on Team Uniforms in October. We will also schedule a Picture Night (Team & Individual) to be held in December after uniforms are received and distributed.

4) Practices
Each team will schedule practice times at least 2 times per week at selected School District and other various locations. As schools have other events, schedules may need to be adjusted. Your coach or team manager will inform your team of the schedule and changes.

5) Positional Training, Jump Training, Agility, & Conditioning
Many teams will have skill specific training sessions (middles, outsides/right sides, defensive specialists, setters, etc.), so players will be taught consistently across the club and as age appropriate. This also provides additional consistency for our coaches in the various drills and skills. Many teams will also have weekly Jump Training, Agility, and Conditioning.

6) Referee / Score Keeping Clinic - REQUIRED!!
We schedule ref training sessions for all players to attend in December. This is required for all club players. We also require that all players complete online training modules and videos ahead of the sessions.

7) Tournaments
Each team will schedule their respective local tournaments (approximately 2-3 per month). Coaches
will work with the teams to determine if additional out-of-town tournaments are scheduled, including
National Qualifiers and the Regional Championship tournament.
